To make our Beronia Tempranillo Elaboración Especial, the best bunches were selected and macerated in tanks until the required levels of colour were produced. This unique wine undergoes double fermentation, both alcoholic and malolactic, in American oak barrels. The wine remains for a total of 6 months in the same barrels with periodic batonage. It was bottled in November 2017 and continued ageing for a minimum of 6 months in bottle before being released to the market.
The wine shows a deep picota cherry red colour. It is attractive on the nose with the most notable aromas being of coffee and mocca, along with fresh fruit over very rich cocoa in the background. Very fruity on the palate, with red fruit and liquorice being the dominant flavours but thewine also displays touches of chocolate and vanilla. The finish is long and very persistent.
The structure of this wine means it is a perfect match for smoked and salted meat and fish and pâtés. Recommended for drinking from release until 2024.
