95% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano,
Upon arrival at the winery the Tempranillo y Graciano grapes were cold macerated for a few days before starting alcoholic fermentation, which took place at under 26oC with regular pumping over. Next, the Beronia 198 Barricas Reserva Especial 2010 was transferred to mixed oak barrels made from American oak staves and French oak ends, in which the wine was aged for 24 months. Lastly, it was bottled and aged for at least a further 24 months.
Beronia 198 Barricas Reserva Especial 2010 is a deep garnet colour. Complex and intense on the nose, it displays very clear touches of tobacco and cocoa, with hints of menthol and spices such as clove and pepper coming through too. On the palate it brings to mind cooked fruit with balsamic notes. This is a very lively, well-structured wine with particularly appealing tannins.
Ideal for serving with roast meat, stews, grilled meat, cured meat and mature cheese. The wine is best kept in a cool place and is recommended for drinking from release until 2026.
